Every republican senator knows, deep down, that Trumps hand was in the cookie jar. This is why when the impeachment against Trump goes to the senate, it will end there. The Republicans have the majority and if any cross the floor, they'll be running as independents at their next attempt at government! The worst it can do to Trump is perhaps sway next year's elections. Perhaps.
It goes without saying that the Unscrupulous reprobates would let Hitler off the hook if it meant saving and/or furthering their own backsides.
Shall we call him Teflon Don? After all, nothing seems to stick. Yet this is what unchecked ( but not unchallenged ) quid-pro-quo brings us - a dark age of nationalist, jingoistic cronyism. And already we see the world starting to break up into the domains of petty little warlords - especially after the bitchy little jibe session during Trump's public press meeting with President Macron yesterday. What a kinder-surprise that turned into.... Personally, I don't think Trump ever forgave Macron for that patronising pat on the knee at another press meeting last year .....
